From Farm to Needle

Ladies, it’s time to pack your bags, grab your besties, and escape to Watertown, Wisconsin, for a weekend that’s all about fun, fiber, and fabulous local finds. We’ve lined up two unforgettable days filled with laughter, learning, and a whole lot of alpaca love. We’ll have some cute alpaca treats for you when you arrive on Tuesday night.
Itenerary
Tuesday Night: Settle In
Arrive at your home for the trek and settle in for the stay. Enjoy the evening at one our local restaurants or cook up something at the house.

Wednesday: Meet the Alpacas
Start your adventure at Silver Creek Alpaca Farm, where you’ll get up close and personal with the cutest, fluffiest herd around. Learn all about these gentle creatures—how they’re sheared, how their luxurious wool is turned into soft, beautiful yarn, and maybe even sneak in a selfie or two with your new alpaca pals. Trust us, your Instagram feed will thank you!

Thursday: Dive into Local Delights
On day two you'll head to the Artisan Market in Watertown, a treasure trove of locally made products. Browse handcrafted goodies, meet talented makers, and soak in the creative vibes. Bring your needles along for the knitting guild where you can try out that alpaca yarn, learn new techniques, and maybe even start a new project with your crew. Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just curious, it’s a hands-on experience you won’t forget.

Unwind, Laugh, Repeat
This getaway is the perfect mix of relaxation and inspiration. Spend your evenings swapping stories around the fireplace, showing off your knitting skills, and enjoying the local charm of Watertown. We will provide several sweet stops you can visit on your own. Whether you’re here to unwind or unleash your inner artisan, this trip is all about good times and great company.

Things you need to know:
For this trek you will always arrive on Tuesday evening and leave Thursday night to fit in with the herd life. Remember animals are unpredictable, defer to the owners instruction when at the farm. Pricing includes a credit at the Artisan Market that can be used for yarn or any other purchases. All prices include overnight accommodations.

This music store is for authentic vinyl album listeners. They also feature unique guitar sales and repairs. Call ahead to check their limited open hours.
Town Cinema
This movie theater on Main Street is preserved and operated by a local non-profit, volunteer crew dedicated to showing first run films in Watertown. Tickets are only $4.50 a show, so buy some popcorn, too, to help the cause.

Artisan Market
Discover this collective group of farmers, growers, crafters, bakers and small local business owners products. Plan ahead to get these on of a kind items - they're only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Mullens Dairy Bar
Ice cream made in house right on Main Street, packed with love, with natural flavors and no dyes. Have a sundae while you're there - get the warmed nuts on top, trust us.

Paddle the local section of a National Park Service water trail. Ask us how you can rent a kayak during your visit.
Interurban Trail
This 11-mile bike or pedestrian trail to Oconomowoc is open year round. Ask us how you can rent a bike during your visit.
Silver Mill Pond
A great way to get outside when its cold! When the pond freezes over the skates come out. We'll direct you to the warming house. Get there early for the best choice of skates to rent.
Disc Golf at Brandt-Quirk Park
Ranked as the 20th best disc golf destination in Wisconsin, this trail will challenge and entertain you! Bring your discs or watch the locals play through.
Aztalan State PArk
History comes alive at this 174 Acre National Landmark and archaeological sites. Walk the area that was one of the first settlements in Wisconsin (20 minutes drive).
